I'm a 5'9" muscular male, who bike commutes year round. For high visibility waterproof jackets in price range of $150-$300, this one was the best value find for me. I ordered a size large and it has enough room for up to 3 winter layers underneath.
Pros:
- The picture does not do this coat justice just how high visibility neon yellow it is. This is my 6th high visibility piece of gear, and by far the brightest. After a month of use in varying conditions, it hasn't faded.
- Waterproof and windproof. No complaints. Like any waterproof layer it does trap sweat, so the warmer the more sweaty I arrive where I am going.
- elastic in the wrist velcro cuffs make this very snug/secure for if I want to keep water out, or if I want to wear them loose for more ventilation.
- Hood is natural and when adjusted properly I can see well in bad/cold weather. My last raincoat I had to choose between keeping the rain out around the face/neck and sideways visibility.
Cons:
- I wish there were more zippers for adjustable ventilation, or a back vent.
- No option to roll up and tuck the hood down if not needed.
- My original goal for buying a waterproof layer was one of the Boathouse Splash Jackets, but they did not have a high visibility neon option. Kind of weird for being tailored for rowers. This jacket was the next best option.
- I wish there were good washing instructions. I'll just follow what I know for waterproof layers.
I love this lightweight unisex rain jacket! I am mindfully shopping local as much as possible and want to spend my money on USA made goods. This is a well-made rain jacket, perfect as a layering piece. I rolled it into my backpack for a day hike, and I wore it around town on a stormy day. The order was fulfilled quickly, and it shipped to me within days. I will definitely be ordering from Boathouse again.
Very nice jacket. 5 star
